A New Twist on Traditional Obedience

Positive reinforcement training classes are by far the best choice for most every dog and owner. Problem is that these traditional classes are based on the behaviours dogs perform in obedience competition; which is not overly helpful for the pet dog owner.

When we know better, we can do better. This lead me to create my own "Manners, Obedience, and Life-skills" classes; created specifically to address the needs of most every dog owner.

Through fun and engaging games, dogs and owners will learn skills such as loose leash walking, crate training, resting in place, recalls away from distractions, and greeting guests politely.

Classes will also include learning on how to help your dog enjoy grooming, nail trimming, trips to the vet, and out on grand adventures.

At the center of all these skills is the critical element of "impulse control". Teaching a dog how and when to make good choices; and those choices are the ones their owner needs them too make.

Behavioral Modification

Behavioural modification training is for dogs with problem behaviours that cannot be changed through learning the skills in our manners classes mentioned above.

True behavioural problems - simply put - fall in to two categories: chemical/neurological instability, or fear. The former requires a visit with a veterinarian who specializes in behaviour; these visits typically end with with a prescription for much needed medications to help change or eliminate behaviour. The latter is fear based reactivity...or more commonly known as "aggression".

If you have labelled your dog as "fearful" or "aggressive" and would like assistance on helping your dog live a more peaceful life, please contact me to book a consultation - I will be more than happy to help.
